I might as well start this review by saying I absolutely loved this episode. My favourite episode of series 10 so far and proves to me once again why Jamie Mathieson is one of my favourite writers for New Who (along with Sarah Dollard, Toby Whithouse and Peter Harness). This is also one of my favourite Capaldi episodes that’s been written so, to conclude, it’s getting a perfect score! If you want to find out why I loved it so much then read on! Let me get one thing straight, I love Doctor Who – obvi, because I’m writing this blog, duh! I also love horror, massive fan and coincidentally I wrote my undergraduate dissertation of horror in Doctor Who. However, one thing which I love so much, and has as much of a place in my hearts as a show about an alien time traveller, is a show called Scooby-Doo, Where are You? and mash these three things I love together and you get a throughly enjoyable episode in what is building up to be Peter Capaldi’s strongest season. (PS, by the way, also a small bit of a Little Mix fan – appreciated the inclusion).

Hey people, I’m back! Sorry for my absence, my university assignments have taken priority meaning that I couldn’t write a review for “Smile” last week so right here you’re going to get two in one! Doctor Who finally came back to our TV screens last night, April 15th, and what a fun adventure we were given. It was really great to see the show in such a stripped back, simple form, especially with Pearl Mackie as the amazingly likeable Bill Potts. Just a heads up, this review will contain spoilers.

The YouTube community is filled with so many different types of content creators, such as vloggers, sketch comedians, reviewers and musicians but one of my favourite type of creators is the WhoTuber. Not really much of a surprise, is there? Obviously WhoTubers are people whose channels are solely geared towards bringing viewers brand new Doctor Who or Whoniverse content on a regular basis. Here, in my opinion, are my top five personal favourite WhoTubers. Continue reading “Top Five Best WhoTubers”
Peter Capaldi’s portrayal of the Doctor has been one of my all time favourite in the shows history. Then again I love every single actor who has played the role. With his final episode looming, we need to stop and take into consideration how the end of his (and Moffat’s) era might come about. Earlier today, we got the release of another epic Series 10 trailer, which ended with quite a jaw dropping clip of Twelve beginning to regenerate. This only fuels the rumours that he will be leaving at the end of Series 10 rather than the Christmas special. I’m going to offer my thoughts on how I think Capaldi should bow out of Doctor Who in 2017. Continue reading “How Twelve Should Leave”
It’s common knowledge that the Peter Capaldi era of Doctor Who has been met with a mixed reaction. Portions of the fandom love it and feel it was the direction the show needed to go in following the 50th anniversary, whereas others feel it was too vastly different from what had come before with Tennant and Smith that they were instantly put off. Then there are the unfortunate people stuck in the middle who can see the potential his era has but often feel that the writing doesn’t match his calibre of acting. I sometimes fall in the middle. This article is going to be a defense of certain aspects his era i.e. characters, and I will address some of the criticism which have been aimed towards his time in the TARDIS and hopefully get people to see it from a different angle, and perhaps make people think of giving it another chance.
